Creating A Website

I am creating a website, how do I cite an internet article I want to put in it?
I am creating a website, and I want to show how important something is, so I am quoting an article from a big news site. I am quoting them and putting the direct link to the actual article. Is this still breaking any copyright laws? Is that enough? Do I need to ask that website permission?
What you have done is fine, as you have essentially referenced your work.
If you would like to take it a step further, you can reference in the Harvard Style, which is very common and used by many Universities.
The Format Is:
Author Year, Title, Producer, City, viewed Date,
If you are talking about the article in an article or essay of your own, you must reference each idea or topic you discuss, if it is not your own.
In text referencing should also be undertaken. This occurs when you cite a reference while you are writing, for example:
Talking about the theory of relativity (Einstein, 1906) Talking more about relativity. –> So you have ackowledged that you are drawing upon ideas develop by Einstein. The year is also placed so it is easier to find specific research material or articles that Einstein wrote (As he wrote many papers, using the year narrows this down significantly).
Hope this helps!
