Movie Rating Guide

How do they determine the rating (number of stars) on a movie on a cable program guide?

I’ve seen really good movies rated with one or two stars, while other pathetic movies rated with three or four stars. I know it’s a matter of taste, which is subjective, but many of the “star” ratings do not reflect the collective ratings of sites like IMDB’s top 250. I tried to jfgi, but it has led down too many dead-ends.

They will typically do the rating themselves, they don’t use external critics or an external rating source. I agree with you about how they don’t tell you much all the way though! : ]
