Showtimes

Why don’t movie theaters have showtimes in the 8 o’clock hour?

I don’t know if this is the case everywhere, but in my area movie theaters rarely have showtimes in the 8 o’clock hour. A movie will start at 7:15, and 9:40 or something similar. Sometimes I realize this has to do with the running time of the movie, but it only takes a quick glance at all the showtimes to see this has been done deliberately. Personally, 7ish is to early, and interferes with dinner plans, and 9ish is too late. What’s the rationale?

OH MY GOODNESS I KNOW!!! my friend and i could only find one movie tonight that was playing at 815….everything else was at 7 or 9. and 8 a really good time to see a movie so you would think that they would play movies then….ugh i am so frustrated about that too.
